Have you always wanted to be an entrepreneur?
Yes, for as long as I can remember. I turn everything into a business idea. It drives my husband crazy!
What inspired your business idea?
My husband and I had the incredible opportunity of living in Germany. We saw a more sustainable way of living, When I was pregnant with our first, I became uber conscious of the toxins in conventional cleaning and personal care products. I saw an opportunity to combine my sustainable passion and need for cleaner products.
What’s been the biggest challenge being an entrepreneur?
Balance. We just had our 3rd child 3 months ago, balancing my business is tough. Luckily my husband is a Rockstar. It's also been incredible for our children to learn firsthand what can be achieved with a lot of dedication and hard work.

We both have always been driven self-starters. Neither of us set out to intentionally become entrepreneurs, it was natural. .
What inspired your business idea?
Together we recognized the disconnect between bridal fashion and fashion. When offered fashion bridal, brides were thirsty for more.
What’s been the biggest challenge of being an entrepreneur?
Definitely been the past year, navigating Loversland through Covid. Also, being females in business has presented some interesting interactions - Sometimes we have not been treated as serious in certain situations like capital raising. There are times our voices have been belittled.
B YOGA- Elevated yoga, fitness & wellness essentials
FOUNDER: Andrea
SITE: www.byoganow.com
Have you always wanted to be an entrepreneur?
I had a deep desire to integrate my creative and business development passions. I could never envision myself working at a large firm. I always saw myself staying small and hands on, having the ability to make an impact, and really defining my own unique path!
What inspired your business idea?
My passion for yoga, I knew that someday I would make yoga my career. I was working with an innovative type of rubber and quickly realized that the material’s distinctive qualities—durability, sustainability, and a grippy surface— could make the perfect yoga mat.
What’s been the biggest challenge being an entrepreneur?
I experienced a fair amount of sexism and ageism; older males who really didn't believe that I had what it took to launch and grow this business. At times this resulted in roadblocks but also equipped me with thicker skin. This experience also fuels my desire to support other females in business. We are stronger together.
We must continue to support one another and celebrate women all year, not just on International Women's Day. Let's also continue to acknowledge that there is a lot more work to be done to level the playing field. To the women above, you inspire.
